On 20 July 2026, J.League unveiled its fully redesigned official website as part of its Brand Evolution initiative, which will be implemented from the 2026/27 season onwards.
The new website has been created to provide fans and supporters with a more intuitive and user-friendly experience. By improving usability and expanding opportunities for interaction, the redesigned platform aims to strengthen engagement with supporters while creating greater value for everyone connected with the J.League. It also brings the League's evolving brand identity to life through a clearer and more consistent visual expression.
Built around the newly developed design concept, "Common Ground," the site serves as a shared platform that celebrates the unique identity and appeal of each of the League's 60 clubs. A new visual identity, centred on a monochrome palette, allows the pride of each club, the dynamism of its players, and the passion of its fans and supporters to take centre stage.
The Japanese and English versions of the website have been aligned in both design and user experience, ensuring a consistent brand experience for fans in Japan and around the world.
About the Brand Evolution
Since its launch in 1993 with ten clubs, the J.League has expanded to encompass 60 clubs. As the League embarks on its next chapter with the ambition of becoming a league recognised and embraced around the world, its brand is evolving alongside it.
The Brand Evolution initiative aims to ensure that the essence of the J.League is instantly recognisable in every interaction and every point of communication with fans and supporters.
The relaunch of the official website is one of the flagship projects bringing that vision to life.
Defining the Essence of the J.League
As part of the Brand Evolution initiative, the J.League held a series of workshops involving more than 100 members of staff to redefine what makes the League uniquely "J.League." These discussions resulted in five core principles that capture the League's aspirations and identity. Together, they provide a consistent framework for all future communications and help shape how the J.League presents itself both in Japan and internationally.
The Five Core Principles of the J.League
1. Inspiring Passion
Inspiring and energising people through the atmosphere of the stadium, the matchday experience, and the passion we bring to the game.
2. Celebrating Local Communities and Individuality
Providing the foundation for local communities across Japan, all 60 clubs, and everyone involved in the game to shine and thrive.
3. Championing Japan's Unique Strengths
Drawing on and creating unique Japanese strengths to shape values and an approach that are distinctly J.League.
4. Connected to the World, Aiming Higher
Viewing every level of J.League as part of the global game and continually striving to become one of the world's leading football leagues.
5. Evolving for the Future
Leading change through sustainability and diversity, so that football continues to be part of everyday life for generations to come.
