Tochigi SC have announced that defender Ryo Sakurai of Hosei University will join the club for the 2026/27 season (January 2027). The club also announced that he has been registered as a JFA/J.League Special Designated Player for the 2026/27 season.
The Ibaraki native commented:
"I am delighted to begin my professional career, which has been my dream since childhood, at such a wonderful club as Tochigi SC. I am grateful to my teammates, coaches, family and everyone I have met through football for their support. I will repay them through my performances as a professional footballer. I will give everything I have for Tochigi SC and fight for every victory. Thank you for your continued support."
