FC Ryukyu have announced that forward Cal Jennings will join Sacramento Republic FC in the United States.
Jennings joined Ryukyu last season and made 13 appearances in the MEIJI YASUDA J2/J3 100 YEAR VISION LEAGUE.
Jennings commented through the club:
“To the FC Ryukyu family, after much consideration, I have decided to leave FC Ryukyu. When I came to Okinawa as the first American player in the club’s history, my goal was to contribute to FC Ryukyu’s promotion and success. Although things did not turn out as I had hoped, I am grateful for the opportunity to have played for this club and proud to have represented this badge. My wife and I are truly grateful for all the warmth and support we received from the supporters, staff, teammates, and the people of Okinawa. In particular, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Yuki Kitano, who has been a wonderful interpreter and friend.
Leaving this club was by no means an easy decision, but I have to move forward as I continue to pursue my goals and dreams. Thank you to everyone who welcomed us so warmly and made Okinawa feel like a second home. I sincerely wish FC Ryukyu every success in the future.”
