Two Matchweek 2 fixtures in the MEIJI YASUDA J2 LEAGUE were played on 16 August.
Yokohama FC took the lead against Iwata at MUFG National Stadium through Leo Takae in the 28th minute before Lukian doubled their advantage in the 51st minute. Takuya Shimamura added a third in the 62nd minute. Yokohama FC were then reduced to 10 men and conceded a goal but held on for a comfortable 3-1 victory to make it two wins from two to start the season.
Tokushima and Tosu played out a goalless draw.
