Eight matches were played on the 22nd in Matchweek 3 of the MEIJI YASUDA J3 LEAGUE.
Kagoshima and Gifu, both aiming to make it three wins from three, played out a goalless draw. Ehime were also seeking a third straight win and drew level through Masashi Tanioka in the 19th minute after falling behind. Shota Hino then put them ahead in the 67th minute, only for Matsumoto to equalise two minutes later as the match ended 2-2. The result means no team has a perfect record after three matchweeks.
FC Osaka trailed Ryukyu by a goal before Yamato Natsukawa struck a dramatic equaliser in the 90+2nd minute to earn his side a 2-2 draw. Nara recorded their first win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Yamaguchi, with Yuta Togashi among the scorers.
Tochigi SC fought back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Kitakyushu. Wadi Ibrahim Suzuki pulled one back in the 79th minute before Taiyo Igarashi levelled six minutes later. Tottori defeated Fukushima 2-1 thanks to a brace from Sota Yamamoto, leaving Fukushima with three straight defeats to start the season.
Shiga scored three first-half goals away to Gunma, with Iori Sakamoto among the scorers. Gunma pulled two back after the break, but Shiga held on for a 3-2 victory to make it two wins in a row. Gunma, meanwhile, suffered their third straight defeat. Nagano beat Kumamoto 1-0, holding on to the lead given to them by Keito Nojima's 11th-minute goal.
