Jubilo Iwata have announced that midfielder Yuma Okuda, who currently plays for the club’s U-18 side, is set to join the first team in January 2027 for the 2026/27 season.
Okuda is from Kanagawa Prefecture. The club describes him as a player with sharp, dynamic movement who can maintain a high level of technical quality even under intense pressure. He has an excellent understanding of the game, reads situations well in both attack and defence, and is capable of making the right decisions in any area or phase of play. The club also highlighted his passion for football, constant desire to improve and positive attitude, adding that his drive to keep developing makes him a player who can have a positive influence on the team both on and off the pitch.
Okuda commented through the club:
“It’s finally here. I’m finally at the starting line. That’s how I honestly feel right now. I’ve been able to reach this point thanks to my family, my teammates, everyone who has coached me and everyone who has supported me along the way. I’m so happy to have the chance to wear the Saxe Blue shirt and to fight alongside our supporters. I feel a real sense of responsibility, but at the same time I can hardly contain my excitement.
I know how demanding the professional game is, so my first goal is to get onto the pitch as soon as possible and help the team.
