Thespa Gunma have announced that midfielder Toi Kagami will join Singapore side Young Lions FC on a permanent transfer.
Kagami had been with Gunma since 2025 but did not make an appearance in the MEIJI YASUDA J3 LEAGUE this season.
Kagami commented through the club:
“To all our fans and supporters, thank you for everything over the past year and a half. I’m grateful to the teammates I met at Gunma, everyone at the club who supported me every day and everyone who has helped me along the way. Every message of support and encouragement you gave me was a huge source of motivation. That’s why I’m disappointed that I wasn’t able to get onto the pitch and repay you with my performances.
I made this decision because I want to reassess where I am and continue growing. I’ll be leaving Japan to take on a new challenge in a different environment, but I’ll stay true to myself and give everything I have. I’m grateful to have this new opportunity and to be able to continue playing football. Thank you so much for the past year and a half.”
