Montedio Yamagata have announced that youth team goalkeeper Rikuto Sato will be promoted to the first team in January 2027.
Sato, who is from Yamagata Prefecture, commented:
“I’m very happy to be able to begin my professional career with Montedio Yamagata, the club I’ve been with since my junior youth days. I’m grateful to all the coaches who have helped me, my teammates, my friends, my family who have always been there for me, and everyone who has supported me along the way. I’ll keep working hard to improve, prove my worth and help Montedio Yamagata win. I also want to become a player who can inspire our fans and supporters, as well as players in the academy.
