Vegalta Sendai have announced that midfielder Jo Ogawa of Chuo University will join the club for the 2027/28 season (February 2028).
Ogawa is from Tokyo and previously played in the Kawasaki Frontale academy.
Following the announcement, Ogawa commented:
“I’m delighted and truly honoured to be able to begin my professional career, something I have dreamed of since I was a child, with a club with such a proud history as Vegalta Sendai. I’ll always be grateful to all the coaches who have guided me throughout my football journey, my teammates and my family, who have supported me no matter what. I’ll stay humble and keep working hard every day so that I can get onto the pitch as soon as possible and help Vegalta Sendai win. I’ll fight with determination and a strong sense of responsibility to become a player our fans and supporters can get behind. Thank you for your support.”
