Sendai Make It Three Straight Wins to Move Provisionally Second! Tosu Cruise Past Miyazaki 2-0 [Summary: MEIJI YASUDA J2 Matchweek 5]

Five Matchweek 5 fixtures in the MEIJI YASUDA J2 LEAGUE were played on 5 September.

Sendai fell behind away to Shonan in the ninth minute but equalised through Hidetoshi Takeda in the 21st. Kokoro Kobayashi then put them ahead just before half-time before Motohiko Nakajima added a third in the 75th minute to seal a 3-1 victory. Sendai have now won three matches in a row, taking their tally to 10 points and moving provisionally into second place.

Kofu beat Yamagata 2-1 away from home thanks to goals from Kojiro Yasuda and Yamato Naito. Daiki Watari struck the only goal in the 33rd minute as Tokushima edged Iwaki 1-0.

Fujieda and Hachinohe played out a goalless draw, while Tosu cruised to a 2-0 victory over Miyazaki thanks to goals from Rio Hyon and Manato Yoshida.
