Niigata Beat Yamagata to Climb to Second! Sendai and Sapporo Share Points [Summary: MEIJI YASUDA J2 Matchweek 6]

Two Matchweek 6 fixtures in the MEIJI YASUDA J2 LEAGUE were played on 13 September.

Niigata held on to the lead given to them by Ryosuke Maeda's 46th-minute goal to beat Yamagata 1-0. The win took them to 12 points and lifted them to second.

Sapporo took the lead away to Sendai through Shingo Omori in the 22nd minute, but Hidetoshi Takeda equalised four minutes later as the match ended 1-1.
