Gamba Osaka on Tuesday announced the signing of South Korean striker Hwang Uijo on a full transfer from Seongnam FC.
The 24-year-old has earned nine caps for his country, in addition to having played at the Under-23, U-20, and U-17 levels.
“It’s an honour to undertake this new challenge at Gamba Osaka, one of the J.League’s most famous clubs,” Hwang said.
“I will work hard to meet the expectations of my teammates, coaching staff, and our fans and supporters.”
Hwang, who will wear the No. 11 shirt previously worn by players such as Shu Kurata, Takashi Usami, and Ryuji Bando, is scheduled to join the team in training on June 28.
He will be eligible to play following the start of the summer registration window on July 21.
