2017 J.League International Youth Cup Final Matchups Set ~ Title match to be Kyoto Sanga F.C. U-18 vs. Gamba Osaka Youth ~

The final matches for the 2017 J.League International Youth Cup have been set following the final group stage results. The championship match will feature Kyoto Sanga F.C. U-18 against Gamba Osaka Youth. In the event that any of these matches are drawn after 80 minutes, the winner shall be determined via ABBA-style penalty kicks.

As with the group stage, the final day of matches will all be broadcast live through the J.League’s official media channels.

Participation Requirements: Players must be born on or after January 1, 2000.
However, up to two overage players born in 1999 may be registered.
Both players must be field players or goalkeepers.
Competition Format:
– The eight participating teams will be divided into two groups of four for single-match round robin play. Following the group stage, the first, second, third, and fourth place teams will pair off to determine the final overall standings.
– Group Stage: 80 minute matches (40 minute halves), no extra time or penalty kicks
– Final Round: 80 minute matches (40 minute halves), winner to be determined by penalty kicks in the event of a draw using the ABBA format.

●PK Format (ABBA):
each team will select five players to participate. After a player from Team A takes the first kick, two players from Team B will take kicks, followed by two players from Team A (A>BB>AA>BB>AA>B). If a winner is not declared after five players from each team have taken penalty kicks, additional players shall alternate in sudden death.

Ranking Method/Tiebreakers: Teams will be ordered by the number of points earned, with three points awarded for a win, one point awarded for a draw, and none avoided for a loss. In the event that two more teams are tied on points, the following tiebreakers will be applied:

1. Goal difference
2. Goals scored
3. Record against team(s) in tie (points, goal difference, points scored)
4. Fair Play Points
– Caution: 1 point
– Ejection due to two cautions: 3 points
– Ejection due to direct red card: 4 points
– Ejection due to direct red card after receiving a caution: 5 points
5. Drawing of lots

Third place – third place medal
Golden Boot – Commemorative certificate
MVP – Commemorative certificate
