J1 League Standings

*In-play standings are provisional until match reports are released.
*During the season, standings are shown based on points, goal difference, and goals scored. After the league season has ended, the annual standings will be updated considering these factors and any other relevant criteria.
*The top two clubs (1st and 2nd place) will qualify directly for the AFC Champions League 2023 Group Stage, while the 3rd-placed club will enter the Play-off Stage. If a J.League club wins the AFC Champions League, that club will take the Play-off spot instead of the 3rd-placed club.
*If the EMPEROR'S CUP Champions finish within the top three in the league, the 4th-placed club will earn a spot in the AFC Champions League 2023 (entering from the Play-off Stage).
*The bottom two clubs (17th and 18th place) in the final standings will be automatically relegated to the MEIJI YASUDA J2 LEAGUE. The 16th-placed J1 club and the J2 clubs ranked 3rd to 6th (provided they hold a J1 license) will participate in the J1 Promotion Play-offs. The winner will either remain in or be promoted to J1.
