FC Machida Zelvia have announced that defender Gen Shoji will serve as captain for the 2026/27 season. The club have also named Hokuto Shimoda and Kosei Tani as vice-captains.
Following the announcement, Shoji commented:
"I have been appointed captain again this season. I don't intend to change anything about the way I approach the role, so I'll continue to lead the team as I always have. Of course, every team evolves over time, so I'll make sure I adapt as well. I want to listen to what everyone is feeling, share ideas with the coaching staff and help keep us moving in the right direction. I'll certainly rely on our two vice-captains, but we also have many other players who lead in their own way. I want us all to work together as one team, making the most of everyone's strengths. Thanks for your continued support this season."
