Kashima Antlers have announced that defender Kimito Nono has joined D.C. United on a permanent transfer.
Nono joined Kashima in 2024 and made 19 appearances, scoring two goals in last season's MEIJI YASUDA J1 100 YEAR VISION LEAGUE.
Following the announcement, Nono commented:
"I have decided to join D.C. United. I gave this decision a great deal of thought and spent a long time weighing up my options. Now that I have made my decision, I believe the only way I can repay everyone is by performing well on the pitch. I will push myself even harder and strive to make an even greater contribution. The two and a half years I spent wearing the Antlers shirt after graduating from university were truly irreplaceable. Every day was rewarding, and I had so many unforgettable experiences. I sincerely hope Kashima Antlers achieve back-to-back J.League titles and win the AFC Champions League Elite this season. I will continue to give everything I have in my new environment and hope that both the club I love and I can continue to achieve even greater success.
