Cerezo Osaka have announced that midfielder Shunta Tanaka will serve as captain for the 2026/27 season. The club have also named midfielder Shinji Kagawa and defender Shinnosuke Hatanaka as vice-captains.
Following the announcement, Tanaka commented:
"Following the 2025 season and the 100 YEAR VISION LEAGUE, I have once again been entrusted with the captaincy this season. I will give everything I have to help lead the team in the right direction. By focusing on delivering results, I will do my utmost to make a positive impact both on and off the pitch."
