Eight Matchweek 2 fixtures in the MEIJI YASUDA J2 LEAGUE were played on 15 August.

Fujieda took the lead at home to Iwaki in the 12th minute through Yuri Mori. Iwaki equalised just before half-time, but an own goal restored Fujieda's lead in the 59th minute before Wigi Kanemoto added a third in the 82nd minute to seal a 3-1 victory and make it two wins from two to start the season.

Omiya claimed a dramatic 3-2 away victory over Imabari, with Masato Kojima scoring the winner in the 90+1st minute after the match had been level at 2-2. Shonan held on to the lead given to them by Kazuki Dohana's 75th-minute goal to secure a 1-0 victory. Both Omiya and Shonan have now made it two wins from two to start the season.

Tochigi C produced a five-goal rout at home to Hachinohe, starting with Hayato Teruyama's opener in the 10th minute. Atsushi Yoshida doubled their lead in the 30th minute before they added three more goals in the second half, including one from Pedro Augusto, to complete an emphatic 5-0 victory and claim their first-ever J2 win.

Toyama cruised to a 4-0 away victory over Akita, with Yoshiki Takahashi among the scorers. Niigata took the lead at home to Sapporo through Jin Okumura in the 19th minute. Sapporo equalised in the 36th minute, but Kazuyoshi Shimabuku restored Niigata's lead in the 46th minute to secure a 2-1 victory.

Sendai and Oita played out a goalless draw, with neither side able to find a breakthrough. Kofu fell behind at home to Miyazaki in the sixth minute, but Yamato Naito equalised 10 minutes later as the match ended 1-1.
