2026/27 MEIJI YASUDA J.LEAGUE Sets New Matchweek Attendance Record for Second Straight Week; J2 and J3 Also Set New Records

The 2026/27 MEIJI YASUDA J.LEAGUE set a new record for the highest combined attendance in a single matchweek across all divisions in the opening matchweek last weekend, with a total of 476,112 spectators. Matchweek 2, held from 14 to 16 August, saw a combined attendance of 481,544 across 30 J1, J2 and J3 matches, breaking the record for the second consecutive matchweek.

A total of 476,112 spectators attended 29 matches in the opening matchweek, setting a new record for the highest combined attendance in a single matchweek. That record was surpassed in Matchweek 2, meaning a new matchweek attendance record has now been set in each of the first two matchweeks of the season.

The MEIJI YASUDA J2 LEAGUE also set a new matchweek attendance record, with 159,567 spectators attending the 10 Matchweek 2 fixtures, surpassing the previous record of 135,724 set in Matchweek 38 of the 2025 season. The MEIJI YASUDA J3 LEAGUE also set a new record, with 70,956 spectators attending the 10 Matchweek 2 fixtures, surpassing the previous high of 68,580 set in Matchweek 23 of the 2025 season.

A total of 957,656 fans and supporters attended 2026/27 MEIJI YASUDA J.LEAGUE matches across the first two matchweeks of the season. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who came to the stadiums.
