■ Page 18 “6. Mandatory Off-Field Treatment”
Before update:
“A player who receives treatment from medical staff on the field of play may not re-enter the field of play for at least one minute after play has restarted. However, exceptions apply to goalkeepers, head injuries, serious injuries, collisions between players and situations involving penalty kicks. This new rule is intended to discourage ‘tactical time-wasting’, where players feign injury to disrupt the flow of the match.”
After update:
“An outfield player whose actual or suspected injury causes play to be stopped, or who receives assessment or treatment on the field of play, must leave the field and remain off it for one minute after play has restarted, subject to certain exceptions. However, in cases of head injury or bleeding, the player may re-enter the field of play before the one-minute period has elapsed once it is safe to do so. This new rule is intended to discourage ‘tactical time-wasting’, where players feign injury to disrupt the flow of the match.”
