Mito Hollyhock have announced that defender Yuri Tamura of Momoyama Gakuin University will join the club earlier than originally planned.

Tamura had been set to join Mito in January 2027 and was registered as a JFA/J.League Special Designated Player. His designation has now been cancelled ahead of his early move to the club.

Tamura commented through the club:

“I’ve decided to bring forward my move into professional football and join Mito Hollyhock on a permanent transfer. I’m incredibly grateful to Momoyama Gakuin University for all the support I’ve received, as well as to the teammates I’ve fought alongside and all the coaches and teachers who have guided me along the way. At the same time, when I thought about the future I want to build for myself, and now that I’m on track to complete the credits I need to graduate, I felt this was the right time to take the next step into professional football and keep growing as a player. I’ll take to the pitch with even greater determination and responsibility and do everything I can to make this decision the right one. To everyone connected with Mito Hollyhock, thank you for your support.”
