Sendai Beat Iwaki 2-0 to Go Top! Toyama and Yokohama FC Draw 3-3 in Top-Four Clash [Summary: MEIJI YASUDA J2 Matchweek 8]

Ten Matchweek 8 fixtures in the MEIJI YASUDA J2 LEAGUE were played on 26 September, with Sendai moving top of the table after a 2-0 win at Iwaki.
 
Sendai took the lead through Tsubasa Umeki in the 33rd minute before Motohiko Nakajima doubled their advantage in the 80th to seal a comfortable victory. Their second straight win took them to 17 points and lifted them to the top of the table.
 
Niigata, who began the matchweek as leaders, took the lead away to Akita through Matheus Moraes in the 15th minute. Akita struck twice to turn the match around, but Iury Castilho rescued a point for Niigata with a 90th-minute equaliser as the match ended 2-2.
 
In the Top-Four Clash between Toyama and Yokohama FC, the visitors took a 3-1 lead into half-time, with Kanta Chiba among the scorers. Manato Furukawa scored his second of the match to reduce the deficit to one before Daichi Matsuoka equalised in the 89th minute to earn Toyama a 3-3 draw.
 
Omiya cruised to a 5-1 victory over Kofu, with Carlinhos Junior scoring twice. Yamagata beat Tosu 2-0 thanks to goals from Junya Takahashi and Ryoma Kida.
 
Hachinohe edged Iwata 2-1 away from home, with Shoma Takayoshi striking the winner in the 69th minute after the sides had been level at 1-1. Tokushima cruised to a 3-0 victory over Tochigi City, with Daiki Watari among the scorers.
 
Shonan claimed a 2-1 away victory over Imabari as Fabian Gonzalez struck the winner in the 90+6th minute. Oita and Fujieda, meanwhile, played out a 1-1 draw.
 
Miyazaki edged Sapporo 3-2 at home, with Kaiga Murakoshi among the scorers, to make it three wins in a row.
