Matsumoto Yamaga on Tuesday announced the signing of Brazilian midfielder Eric Pereira from Romania’s CS Pandurii Targu Jiu.
The 29-year-old has spent the majority of his career in Romania, but has experience of playing in Asia after spending one year with Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli.
“I’m happy to have been given a chance to play in Japan,” Yamaga’s new No. 7 commented. “I want my manager, the team, and our supporters to believe in me.
“I want to play the best football of my career here and keep Matsumoto Yamaga in J1.”
Fifteenth-placed Yamaga will be looking to distance themselves from the drop zone when the MEIJI YASUDA J1 League resumes on July 11 with the start of the second stage.
