FC Tokyo announced the signing of Serbian goalkeeper Vlada Avramov on Wednesday as doubts over Shuichi Gonda’s status remain.
The 36-year-old spent much of his career in Italy, most recently playing for Atalanta in Serie A last season until June.
“It’s an honour to join this club,” Avramov, who boasts two caps for his country, commented.
“I want to work hard with my team-mates to make this a terrific year. Thank you for your support.”
The news follows the uncertain fitness condition of regular custodian Gonda, who has not played for the capital side since their 3-1 win over Vegalta Sendai in July.
Gonda, who came through Tokyo’s youth ranks, has been at the club since 2007.
