Vissel Kobe have added some international experience to their backline in South Korean goalkeeper Kim Seung-gyu, who is “overflowing with excitement” about the move.

The 25-year-old, who arrives on a full transfer from K-League side Ulsan Hyundai, has 17 caps for his nation and participated in the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Vissel opted to introduce fresh blood following a season which was marred by a bottom-half league finish despite the side being on the verge of a maiden Yamazaki Nabisco Cup final appearance.

And Kim responded well to the new challenge of making an impact with Nelsinho’s men, commenting: “Vissel Kobe will be the home of my first challenge overseas.

“I am overflowing with excitement. I can’t wait to stand on the pitch and greet our supporters.”
