Gamba Osaka will inaugurate their new grounds, Suita City Football Stadium, with a pre-season match against Nagoya Grampus.
The “Panasonic Cup” will take place at the club’s new football-specific facility on February 14 at 14:30 JST.
Famed Japanese violinist Taro Hakase, a native of Suita, will perform the national anthem as part of the opening ceremony.
Gamba will move from their previous grounds, the Expo ’70 Stadium, into the new 40,000 capacity complex next season.
The current Emperor’s Cup holders began work on the new stadium in December 2013, with work completed last September.
