Vegalta Sendai on Thursday announced midfielder Shingo Tomita as the club’s captain in 2016.
The 29-year-old, who has spent his entire career at the Tohoku side since joining the league in 2005, will wear the armband for the second year in a row.
“I feel a strong sense of responsibility and promise that we will fight together and focus on earning good results,” Tomita said.
He will be joined by vice-captains Naoki Ishikawa, Yasuhiro Hiraoka, and Hirofumi Watanabe.
