Kawasaki Frontale defender Takanobu Komiyama will sit out the next five months to recover from a fracture in his right foot, the club announced on Tuesday.
The 31-year-old sustained the injury in Frontale’s 5-0 win at Albirex Niigata earlier this month in 2016 Yamazaki Nabisco Cup group stage play.
Komiyama, who underwent surgery on April 11, has yet to make Frontale’s matchday squad since the start of the 2016 MEIJI YASUDA J1 League.
