Cerezo Osaka captain Yoichiro Kaitani will receive surgery on his right ankle on August 2, the club has announced.
The 26-year-old has not been able to return to action since he was substituted early in his team’s 2-1 win at V-Varen Nagasaki on June 8.
Kakitani has five goals in 17 appearances so far in the 2016 MEIJI YASUDA J2 League, helping Cerezo up to third place.
