Sanfrecce Hiroshima youth striker Towa Yamane has agreed to join Cerezo Osaka next season, the club announced earlier this week.

The 17-year-old, whose father is former Oita Trinita and Kashiwa Reysol midfielder Iwao Yamane, scored nine goals to guide Sanfrecce to a runners-up finish in last weekend’s 2016 J.Youth Cup final against FC Tokyo U-18.

“I want to work hard at Cerezo Osaka in order to surpass my father’s career,” the player said in a statement released through the club.

“I hope to bring good news to everyone who has supported me as soon as possible.”
