Shimizu S-Pulse on Wednesday announced an injury to defender Kanu which will cause the Brazilian to miss the opening stages of the season.
The Brazilian tore a muscle in his right calf during training on January 25.
The 31-year-old arrived last month on a full transfer from Thailand’s Chonburi.
